A JOURNEY INTO THE LIFE OF FRANCISCO PIZARRO.

Hello there! My name is Therese and I am going to take you back in time to live through the life of Francisco Pizarro! You'll experience murders, cruelty, courage, and findings! Things weren't all about the fame, but also for the money! Sit back, relax, and enjoy as you experience one's quest for land, the dire need for leadership, and struggles to acquire fame and fortune!

 It was in 1509 when Francisco got to go on his first journey. He was with Alonzo de Ojeda. On this journey, Ojeda was able to find the city of San Sebastian! It was in 1513 when Pizarro joined the expedition of Nunez de Balboa, also known as the Vasco de Balboa. The purpose of the expedition was to explore the land which is now known as Panama. This expedition went across the Isthmus of Panama. That is when they discovered the Pacific Ocean! After they founded Panama, Francisco was known as It was in 1524 when Francisco first made his voyage into the New World! Like many other explorers, Pizarro wanted fame, glory, and remarkable riches. Pizarro made the choice of settling in Panama in the year 1519.   

 Just like any other explorer, Pizarro hoped to find fame, glory and riches in the New World. He was greatly inspired by Hernando Cortes in his conquer of the Aztec Empire. Francisco decided to find an empire himself. What he was aiming for was the Incan Empire. He made his journey there with a few other men who were willing to make the journey.

It was around 1475 to maybe 1478. Well, no one knows the exact date since there were no records! It was all the way in the poor town of Trujillo, Spain. A young boy was born, and his name was Francisco Pizarro. No one ever knew that this child will one day change the world with his discoveries! Obviously, Francisco was born as a Spanish child. He is the unauthorized son of Francisca Gonzalez and Gonzalo Pizarro. He lacked any good education, and was unable to read or write very well. As he grew, he became a great explorer and conquistador! He went on many voyages and expeditions with many famous people! Come with me on this quest through the good and bad times of Francisco Pizarro. 

Pizarro was given permission by Exporer Charles to make further expeditions. Pizarro also became the Governer and General so he could have authority in the land he might discover different things. Francisco was a very successful man. He had many accomplishments  and voyages in his lifetime. As you may or may not know, Pizarro was both an explorer and a conqiustador!  That means he didn't just hope to find new land. He hoped to conquer that land! Francisco's greatest accomplishment was with Peru. He was able to discover Lima, Peru and conquer it! Pizarro was able to conquer an empire.
